| The mission of the County Road Board is to provide the County Executive and County Council recommendations for road improvements to be funded by the county's 1/2 cent transportation sales tax that enhance our communities and make it easier to travel throughout Saint Charles County.
The board solicits applications for road improvements from the County Highway Department and municipalities of the county. The board evaluates these applications to formulate recommendations to the County Executive and County Council for road improvements to be funded.
The County Executive, in consideration of these recommendations, prepares a three (3) year Transportation Improvement Plan, which is submitted to the County Council for approval. The County Council, if necessary, can modify this plan or approve the plan as submitted.
